ACEPHAP Purchased a New Coaster Bus, a Solar Power System and FG-Wilson P110-3 (110 kVA Three Phase Generator Set)

In fulfilment of the pledge made to the World Bank, the Africa Center of Excellence for Population Health and Policy (ACEPHAP) has purchased a new Toyota Coaster Bus, also installed of solar-powered back-up system and FG-Wilson P110-3 (110 kVA Three Phase Generator Set).

The purchase was made to enhance the efficient operation of both students, staff when the need for it arises. See photos below.

ACEPHAP Wins Four Research Project Grants

Bayero University’s Africa Centre of Excellence for Population Health and Policy has recently won four different research project grants from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Nigeria’s Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) and 54Gene Corporation.

This was disclosed by the Director of the Centre, Professor Hadiza Galadanci during a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas on Tuesday 30th March, 2021.

As if responding to President Buahri’s challenge to the academia in his address at BUK’s 35th Convocation ceremony, Africa Centre of Excellence for Population Health and Policy (ACEPHAP), Bayero University, Kano is determined to revolutionise not only the conduct of cutting edge researches, but also to lead in translating research findings into practice and policies. To achieve this, the Centre organised a 5-day PRIME partners Research Capacity Workshop aimed at training and improving not only the research capacity of the centre’s partners, but also on the strategy of implementing research outcomes. Bala G. Abdullahi reports.
